Edith Sandra "Sandy" Valdays (Hallman) 81, passed into eternal life on a beautiful and sunny Saturday afternoon, May 18, 2024. The official time of her passing was 3:16 PM, a reminder of hope and love to us all. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16). Originally born in Summerville, S.C., she grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. As a former military spouse, she was able to travel the world, and especially loved living in Japan.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was also a huge animal lover who passed on that compassion to her family. In her memory, we will continue to champion for those animals in need. She was a consistent donor to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay and previously worked trapping a feral cat colony, getting them fixed and released until she could no longer do so. She loved going to her favorite places – Zoo Tampa, the Florida Aquarium and spending crazy times at Tibby’s with a hurricane and catfish.
She is predeceased by her mother, Dorothy Frances Blackstock (Davies) and stepfather, Emmett Blackstock. She is survived by her sister, Emogene (Randy) Ponsell; daughter, Christie (James) Mallory; and granddaughters, Amanda Wainwright, Brandi (Anthony) Wainwright, Samantha (Dillon) Benner and Loretta Mallory, as well as her great-grandsons, Jayce, Wyatt, and Elliot. All of whom will miss her sharp wit and kindness.
Please continue her passion to help animals in need by donating to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay in her memory. https://hstb.givecloud.co/fundraisers/e-sandy-valdays-fundraiser
