Edward Robert Hoenes

He is survived by his wife, Amalia Hoenes, Four children, Deborah (Terrence) Craig, Edward (Penny) Hoenes Jr., Paul (April) Hoenes, and Christopher (Michelle) Talavera and preceded in death by daughter Cynthia Sexton. He was a beloved Papa to 9 grandchildren, Ryan, Tiffany, Christian, Paul Jr., Nathaniel, Alyssa, Christopher Jr., Journey and Grayson. He was also blessed with 5 great-grandchildren, Aliyah, Milliana, Christian Jr, and Caidence and preceded in death by great grandchild Kaysen.

A visitation for Edward will be held Monday, November 22, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Edward was the absolute most thoughtful and caring person, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He doted on his family and was happiest when he was surrounded by them especially over a good meal. Our memories take us back to his love for Lasagna, the sloppiest chili dogs, root beer floats and cheesecake. His famous saying was "Dessert before dinner, because you may not have room for dessert after you eat dinner".

He was an amazing cook and for many years cooked the entire meal for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

We still have our favorite dishes like his sweet potato casserole, rice and sausage casserole and the best broccoli casserole ever.
