Edwin Santiago Sr.

Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Edwin was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, his unmistakable sense of humor, and the one-liners that could make you laugh even when you were trying not to.

He loved sports and was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan. He also loved Anna Maria Island, good food and drinks, laughing, and spending time with the people he cared about most. Edwin especially enjoyed traveling with his wife, Evelyn. Together, they shared many memories exploring new cities and countries.

Above all, Edwin loved his family deeply.

He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn Santiago; his sons, Edwin “Junie” Santiago Jr. and Abraham Santiago; and his beloved grandsons, Benjamin Santiago and Isaiah Santiago. To them, he was simply and lovingly GPa.

He is also survived by his siblings, Noelia Lopez, Carmen Santiago, Auilda Santiago, and Adrian Santiago. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and loved ones will also continue to carry his memory with them.

Edwin was a unique person in every sense of the word. He could be outspoken, stubborn, hilarious, and completely himself. He had a way of leaving an impression wherever he went.

Those who knew him will remember not only what he said, but the way he said it. His presence was unmistakable. His absence will be deeply felt.

His family will remember the laughs, the stories, the football, the food, the trips, and the time spent together. Most of all, they will remember how deeply he loved his family.

His grandsons held an especially important place in his heart. There is no doubt that GPa loved Benjamin and Isaiah with all of his heart.

Though his passing came far too soon, his family takes comfort in knowing that he is now at peace and reunited with his parents, his brothers, and his beloved Gizmo and Bowser. They will hold onto the memories they shared, the stories that will continue to be told, and the love that remains.
