Eleanor Ellie Ruth Bennett

Bennett, Eleanor Ruth, affectionately known as Ellie, 86, of Venice passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 1, 2012. The daughter of Gordon and Laura Adams born in Penn Yan, New York on September 16, 1925. She graduated from Keuka College with a bachelors’ degree. Ellie was a registered nurse and retired from the State of Florida after 25 years of service with many of her years at Tampa General Hospital. After retirement she spent a lot of her time volunteering as a nurse. Ellie was a member of Bay Shore United Methodist Church and Englewood United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was predeceased in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Dana. Survivors include sons, Mark Bennett and his wife Patricia and Craig Bennett; daughter, Susie Noziglia and her husband Bob; grandchildren, U.S. Navy Lt. Jason Knox, Kyle Bennett Knox and Dane Bennett. Funeral Services will take place Monday, February 6, at 1 PM with the family receiving friends one hour prior at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, Brandon.
