JACKSON, Elizabeth Chelsea succumbed to a long bout with pneumonia at precisely 3:30 am, Tuesday, March 20, 2018. Her parents note the date marks the first day of Spring, the traditional promise of life renewed. Accordingly, they are confident Elizabeth met the dawn restored, refreshed, and reborn, slightly more than 21 years after she suffered, almost age eight, a devastating, debilitating brain injury in a traffic crash. At the time, Elizabeth was a dancer, singer, scholar with an ear for foreign languages, and perpetual pixie who completed her older sister, Katie, who died in the collision. Since the crash, despite her debilitated state, Elizabeth has been the personification of persistence and resilience, leading those around her to fresh appreciations of love, devotion, dedication, and hope. Sadly, her condition slumped over time, despite the best efforts of skilled physicians and devoted caregivers, and her recent pneumonia wrecked her chances of benefiting from advances and anticipated breakthroughs in brain-repair technologies. (God bless, and guide, those researchers.) Elizabeth was preceded into death by her devoted sister, Katherine Leigh Jackson; her maternal grandparents, Helen and Joe Farr (Mimi and Pop); and her paternal grandparents, Dee and David Jackson. She is survived by her parents, Debbie Farr and Thomas Jackson; her brother, Chris Jackson; and extended family: aunt, Cheryl Farr (Lee Miller); uncle, Don Farr (Wanda), uncle, John Jackson (Judy), aunt, Suellen Jackson Meyer (Richard); cousins, Jason Farr (Anna and newborn Charlotte), Nicole Farr (son, Zachary), Kelly Farr de Flores (Jose and children, Emilia and Javier), cousin, David Jackson; and countless other kin. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to the Katie and Elizabeth Jackson Memorial Fund for the Performing Arts (Bank of America) and/or Shriners Hospitals for Children, USF. Elizabeth's parents are abidingly grateful to the physicians, nurses, technicians, and staff at Florida Hospital Tampa, who served as diligent angels on Earth, lighting the path to Elizabeth's new life in the Great Healer's joyous eternity. A memorial service is scheduled for 2 pm, on Saturday, March 24, at the Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church, at 3501 West San Jose Street, Tampa.
