Elmer Johnson

Elmer was born July 10,1932 in Melvin, Kentucky to Malen and Dollie Johnson. Elmer was preceded in death by his two sisters: Ellen Fouts and Minnie Caudill.

He married the love of his life, Toy (Burgess), on October 13, 1956. They shared this love for the next 66 years of his life.

Elmer enjoyed gardening, looking for bargains, and going to church with his loving wife. He also enjoyed listening to some good ole country music. He was always cracking jokes and telling stories the family loved to hear.

If you knew Elmer, you most likely knew him from having yard sales. He loved negotiating some deals. He could sell you the shoes right off his feet.

In addition to being survived by his wife, Toy, they have 3 children: Marie Morse of Valrico, Florida. Chris Johnson (Clair) of Kite, Georgia and Erica Connell (Donnie) of Valrico, Florida.

He had 7 grandchildren: Doug Morse, Austin Connell, Katlynn Connell, Nathan Allman, Shianne Johnson Adkins, Savannah Johnson and Chloe Johnson.

As well as 3 great grandchildren that he loved spending time with: Khayri Battle, Ruby Allman and Henry Allman

A visitation for Elmer will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
