A lifelong resident of Florida, Estrella was born on February 4, 1925, in Tampa, Florida, to Rogelio Medero and America Gonzalez. She is predeceased by her husband Jose “Joe” Lopez, Jr., brother Rogelio “Roy” Medero, Jr., and sister Ida Noguez. Estrella is survived by her daughter Joanne Ballengee, son-in-law Douglas Ballengee, granddaughters Jennifer Tyree (Kevin) and Kayleigh Ballengee, a great-granddaughter Katelyn Tyree, and sisters Frances Gonzalez and Hortensia Buntyn.
