

It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Faye Whisenant, 86, of Brandon, Florida on April 18, 2025. Born on November 23, 1938, in Vance, Mississippi, Faye was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who brought much joy and laughter to all who knew her.
Faye is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Herbert Houston Whisenant, Jr.; daughter, Amanda Dawn Dupraw, son Michael Houston Whisenant; granddaughter Carolina Dawn Dupraw, and grandson, Matthew David Whisenant. She is survived by her sons, Timothy Ray Whisenant and David Alan (Cheryl) Whisenant; grandchildren, Crystal Lynn (Branden) Akens, Shannon Marie Whisenant, Zachary Alan (Hunter) Whisenant, and Kathryn Nicole (Colin) Mac Leod; and great-grandchild, Hayden Dupraw.
Faye moved to Brandon in 1966 where she and her husband, Herb, raised their family. She was an active member of Lindsey Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 40 years serving as Worthy Matron several times and as Secretary for over 15 years. Faye also was an auxiliary volunteer at Brandon Hospital for almost 40 years. She enjoyed socializing, helping others out when she could, and always did so with a smile and a laugh.
The family will receive friends at Hillsboro Memorial Cemetery and Funeral Home, 2323 W Brandon Blvd. on Monday April 28th from 11am-12pm followed by a funeral service from 12pm-1pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her name to a charity of your choice.
