Frank Vincent Wolynski II was born on December 11, 1949, in Thomasville, Georgia, to Frank and Frances Wolynski. On October 29, 2025, Frank peacefully passed away after a sudden and rapid decline in his health, surrounded by love and loved ones.
Frank lived a life filled with kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication to his family. He was a man of quiet strength who found joy in simple moments and pride in the people he loved most.
Before beginning his long career at WEDU, Frank proudly served honorably in the United States Air Force for 11 years, from 1969 to 1980, where he worked as an Electronic Warfare Systems Technician. His time in service reflected his sharp mind, technical skill, and deep sense of duty — qualities that stayed with him throughout his life.
Frank’s lifelong passion for learning and technology led him to a remarkable 43-year career at WEDU, where he served as Chief of Engineering. A self-taught expert with an endless curiosity, Frank built an incredible career through determination, hard work, and a love for innovation. His dedication and ingenuity left a lasting mark on the station and inspired everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.
He is survived by his sister, Linda Jennings; his niece Jennifer Carter; his children, Lisa Wolynski and Michael Wolynski; his three grandchildren — Branden Wolynski, Brandi Wolynski, and Brittany Aguilar — whom he lovingly adopted and raised as his own. Frank’s devotion to his family was his greatest legacy, and his love will continue to live on through them.
He will also be remembered fondly by his many loyal friends and extended family members who were blessed to know him. Frank’s warmth, laughter, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Frank is now reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Patricia Wolynski, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and memories. Together again, their spirits are at peace.
