Frankie Mae Griner, age 70, of Valrico, Florida went to be with her Bridegroom on Tuesday, June 8, 2021. Frankie was born on October 14,1950 in Alma, Georgia. She attended Savannah High School and worked faithfully in the restaurant industry for over 20 years. She then began a career as the owner and chief designer of Flowers by Frankie in Tampa, Florida. She along with her loving husband, David, made their home in the Tampa/Valrico, Florida area for more than 30 years. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 34 years David Lewis Griner and 5 children- Melissa Gordon (Lisa Kincaid), Daphne Richard (Kevin), Robert Padgett, Michelle Griner and Joshua Griner as well as her brother, Roger Clark and his wife Mary, who was both her sister-in-law and a cherished friend. Frankie has a number of grandchildren, Richard Gordon (Elizabeth), Savannah Padgett, Daniel Padgett, Garrett Richard, Griffin Richard and Anthony Colon. She has many loving nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews that she leaves behind. Frankie is preceded in death by her parents, Vera and Frank Clark and her sister, Carol Clark Olguin.
Frankie was a devoted follower of Christ and a student of The Word. She was a gifted writer and would want others to know the name Richard is pronounced Reeshard and Colon is pronounced as Kalone. "Irregardless" (inserted for her humor) of how Southern she sounded, Frankie always presented herself beautifully and was well spoken and highly intelligent. She took joy in hosting get togethers, spending time with her family, loved to cook and one of her passions was arranging any flower that she could get her hands on. Her sense of humor and sarcasm made her the life of any gathering and was generously passed down to her children and grandchildren alike. She was a Shepherdess to many through her Fishnets and Hairspray ministry and worked tirelessly to ensure everyone she spoke with would have the opportunity to know her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She firmly believed that He would meet you where you are and would work on you until you reached the end of your race and gain your crown of righteousness (2 Timothy 4:6-8). Her knowledge and wisdom will be shared for many years to come. She loved deeply and forgave trespasses to a fault and taught her children to do the same. Forgiveness was always a message she was faithful to stress because she said she had been forgiven for so much by her Savior, she could not do less. She led by example of how a true believer can continue to fight the good fight, run the race and keep the faith all the while falling and getting up over and over again. No, she was not perfect but she was faithful and quoted often "For I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that Day." 2 Timothy 1:12
A visitation for Frankie will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Stowers Funeral Home, 401 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511. A funeral service will follow and is to begin at 4:00 PM with Pastor Gary Bradham of New Vision Baptist Church in Savannah, Georgia to officiate. Her son, Robert, is honored to share her story and her message along with her blessing.
