
George was born on February 11, 1932 in Orange, New Jersey to Andrew and Katherine Adonis. He served our country as a Private in the Army during the Korean War. He later graduated with a Masters Degree in Hospitality Management from Florida International University. He spent much of his life traveling as part of his career. His career span included his roles as the director of food service for the airlines (Pan Am and TransAmerican) and as a civilian contractor overseeing the food service for those serving in Desert Storm. George made lifelong friends wherever he went, whether at home or abroad.
George is survived by his sister, Myrna “Peggy” Sofokles, his brother, John H. Adonis, his nephew Charles Sofokles, and his niece, Cynthia Sofokles. He was preceded in death by his brother James Adonis.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to his caregivers at Victoria Crossing Rehabilitation Center during his last days.
Interment in Hollywood, Florida.
