I had the honor of knowing Gladys for the past 7 years. She always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed life to the fullest. We enjoyed our Girls Night Out and all the activities we shared at Kingswood. My condolences to the family.

Gladys had a smile that one would remember forever; it would brighten the room and just make you feel good. I have had the pleasure of knowing this beautiful woman for almost 54 years. Gladys, Mary and the entire family were such a big part of my life for many years. She was my second mother growing up and showed me as much love as she did her own daughters. She was always kind and spoke so soft and sweet but had a laugh that was truly contagious. She made the best desserts and I had the pleasure of enjoying many dinners at her table (and boy could she cook). Gladys you will be missed but your spirit and memory will remain always. Love you.
Mary (Lee), you are in my thoughts and I'm sending prayers of strength during this difficult time. Though your heart may be heavy, embrace your memories and your mom's spirit will live on in your heart forever. Love you my friend.

I met Gladys when I joined the Riverview Garden Club, in 2010. She was an avid gardener whose knowledge of plants was astonishing. If Gladys wasn't a Master Gardener she should have been. She worked every Plant and Rummage Sale helping the club to raise monies for our scholarships and various charitable causes. Gladys had a smile for all. Once at a monthly meeting, Gladys brought a platter of chopped liver and crackers. I had not had any chopped liver since we moved from Miami. It was the best I'd ever eaten. I approached her and asked for her recipe. Selfishly she gave her recipe to me. She even told me the secret ingredient. Every time I make chopped liver I shall remember Gladys and how she shared a special recipe with me, a new member to the garden club.

Sending much love and prayers to Mrs. Durell's family in this time of grief. One of my best memories of Mrs. Durell is when we spent the day Christmas shopping. What a wonderful woman. Rest in peace. Mrs. Durell will forever be your Guardian Angel.
