

Harding “Hardy” Rice Jr., 76, of Riverview, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2024. Born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Hardy grew up in Pleasantville, New Jersey. After graduating from high school, he proudly served his country as a Marine in Vietnam.
Hardy dedicated 35 years of his career to the Atlantic City Electric Company, where he worked as a lineman, eventually retiring as a respected crew leader. In addition to his work at Atlantic City Electric, he also served as a custodian at Ocean City High School. After retirement, Hardy moved to Riverview, Florida, embracing a quieter life.
A man of simple pleasures, Hardy took pride in maintaining his lawn, which was admired by his neighbors. A lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan, he enjoyed cheering for his team with great enthusiasm.
Hardy was predeceased by his parents, Harding Rice Sr. and Maude Rice, as well as his sister, Debra Stevens. He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Collins Rice; his children, Hardy G. Rice, Angelic Rice, and Cory Collins (Rachel); and his siblings, Barbara Rice of Kingsport, Tennessee, Dolores Corbitt of California, Lovie Parrish of Somers Point, New Jersey, and Stanley Rice. Hardy also leaves behind eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many in-laws (Wackos) and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Rd, Northfield, NJ. Services will follow at the same location, with interment at Estelle Manor Veterans Cemetery. A repast celebrating his life will take place at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 220, Mays Landing.
