Helen Marie Hill

Helen Marie Hill, age 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep the early morning of Thursday, February 9, from complications of pneumonia. Born on July 15, 1931 in Scott County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Guy and Opal Gladden. She was married to Joseph F. Hill for 54 years and raised four children in Madison and Greenfield, Indiana, retiring to Sun City Center, Florida. Several years ago, she moved to Cedar Park, Texas, but after only a few months, a series of mini-strokes landed her in rehabilitation, and from there, she entered Sagebrook Nursing Home, which was her home for the last twelve years of her life, having suffered from progressive dementia.

Helen loved looking at pictures and reminiscing about happy times in her past and sharing laughs over Diet Cokes. She enjoyed shopping and seeing friends. She was a very good cook and baker. She loved her family, which consisted of four children (Joseph Jr., Theresa, Mary, and Michelle), eight grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe, and her two siblings and their spouses. Interment will be in the mausoleum at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens in Brandon, Florida, where her husband was previously interred. A small family service will occur there on Monday, February 20, with internment following.

A graveside service for Helen will be held Monday, February 20, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511.
