ROGERS, Helen Grace, 88, of Valrico, entered into rest Saturday, February 1, 2014. She was an employee of the Hillsborough County Sherriff’s Office as a school crossing guard for Yates Elementary and Nativity Catholic School in Brandon and Community Service Officer for the first Hillsborough County satellite office. Helen was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brandon. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Rogers and son, Phillip D. Baker. Survivors include her grandson Christopher Baker (Melissa); great-granddaughters Leah Mackenzie and Emma Caitlin Baker; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Stowers, all of Valrico; nephews David (Jean) and Tom (Kay) Barker of Bristol, VA; two great nieces and a great nephew. A graveside service will be held 2 pm Tuesday, February 4 at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Heart Association in her memory. Helen will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but will live on in their hearts and memories.
