

Vanden Houten, Helen Rose, 76, of Valrico, Florida, passed away on January 13, 2012 surrounded by the love of her family. Predeceased by her husband of fifty- seven years, Bill; she is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Todd and Debbie Edwards; sons William (Okchae) and Robert Vanden Houten; and four adoring grandchildren, Christine, Kimberly, Matthew Edwards and Jennifer Vanden Houten; brother Robert Biggs (Donna); and close friend, Libby Voigtmann. For all blessed enough to have known and loved Helen, she will be remembered as an unselfish soul, giving to her family most of her sweet life. Whether it was caring for the love of her life, watching Lifetime movies with her daughter or just lending a listening ear to her grandchildren; she doted on her family. She was proud of fifteen years of service and retirement from TJMaxx and had an affinity for the simple things in life like shopping for the best bargain, grabbing lunch with her best friend, getting her hair done, and even laundry and cleaning. Her fiery personality has left her loved ones with a lifetime of unforgettable stories and memories to laugh about. Family will receive friends on Thursday of January 19th, at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens, Brandon beginning at 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with service to follow at 11:00 AM.
