

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Helen Wittenbauer passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. Known for her unwavering positive attitude and friendly personality, she will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by Matthias, her loving husband whom she shared 62 years of marriage; her brother, Michael, of Edgewater, NJ; and her parents, Michael and Alice McPartland, of Edgewater, NJ.
Loving mother of six children: Erin Consolver and husband, Don, of Valrico, FL; Mark Wittenbauer of Sioux Falls, SD; John Wittenbauer and wife, Brenda, of Edison, NJ; Lauren Gentile and husband, Daniel, of Lynnfield, MA; Jennifer Wittenbauer and husband, Paul Zack, of Tampa, FL; and David Wittenbauer and wife, Laura, of Venice, FL.
Cherished grandmother of Ryan Consolver and Andrea Stevenson; Kayla and husband, Carl Wynn; Katrina, Kyle, and Karly Wittenbauer; Michael and David Gentile; Taylor, Ashley, and Callie Zack; Riannon, Liam and Brayden Wittenbauer. Great grandmother of Finley and Cameran Wynn.
Helen was born in Jersey City, NJ, August 13, 1937, the daughter of Michael and Alice McPartland. She graduated from Dwight Morrow HS in NJ, and married her high school sweetheart in 1958. Helen raised her six children, and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at the University of South Florida.
Helen was proud of her Irish heritage and a devout Catholic. She taught religious classes and served her parish as a Sunday lector. She was active with the church food bank and Marriage Encounter mission. Helen also taught at St. Jerome’s Early Childhood Center in Largo, FL.
Helen cherished time with family and friends. She loved tennis, boating, and playing Rummy 500. She enjoyed the Rosary group and “Wine Down Wednesday” with her friends at Ambiance at Brandon Assisted Living.
We will celebrate Helen’s life at a Mass on Tuesday, July 7, at 10:30 am at Nativity Catholic Church, 705 E. Brandon Blvd. in Brandon, FL; followed by interment of Helen and Matt at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Clearwater, FL.
