Idona S. Denney

DENNEY, Idona S. “Donnie”, 88, passed away on December 28, 2010 at Hawthorne Health and Rehab under the care of LifePath Hospice. She was born October 15, 1922, in Fertile, Iowa, and moved to South Tampa in 1957. She had been a resident of Hawthorne Village since 2004. She was predeceased by her husband, James H. Denney and her parents, Ole and Hazel Stevens. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara J. Fisher (Allen Barger); her cousin, Juanita Manning of Clearwater; and her best friend, Peggy Burnham of Zirconia, N.C. She spend her entire career in banking, and retired from First Union National Bank (now Wachovia) as vice president of personnel. She was a member of Palma Ceia United Methodist Church for many years. Thank you to all of the caregivers at Hawthorne Health and Rehab and especially to Terry, Cindy and Janice for their care, concern and compassion. A visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Stowers Funeral Home. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 31, 2010 at Myrtle Hill Cemetery. Donations may be made to LifePath Hospice if desired.
