She was born in Pittsburgh in 1945 and was adopted by James Moore Houston and Helen Wilson Houston. She worked as a Lab Technician for Thornton Laboratories in Tampa for 20 years before retiring in 2000.
She was an avid animal lover with many dogs and cats over the years. She loved yellow labradors, spending time with family, watching the Tampa Bay Lightning, doing puzzles and crossword puzzles, and listening to Josh Groban and Michael Jackson.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents James and Helen Houston, and brother Bill Houston. She is survived by brother John Houston of Pittsburgh,PA ; sister Roberta Houston of Pittsburgh,PA ; sons Lee Encinosa (Karen) of Land O' Lakes, FL ; Peter Encinosa (Jennifer) of Wesley Chapel,FL ; and ex-husband Charles Encinosa of Lutz,FL. In addition, Jean was blessed with three nephews, one niece, four grandchildren (Adrian, Alyssa, Alex, Anna) and one great-grandchild (Gia).
