

Jean Hormell died peacefully in Lakeland, Florida at the age of 94. Jean is survived by her sons Neil, David and Walter, along with her daughters in law Grace and Di. Also by her grandchildren Briana, David and Megan and her great grandchildren Nathaniel, Jeremiah, Elijah, Silas, Karen, Taylor, Noah and Riley.
She was born Jean Marie Brundage on December 19, 1931 to Zelda and David in West Clifford, Pennsylvania. Jean graduated from Harford High School.
When living in Pennsylvania she raised her sons Neil and David with her husband, Freeman, while running a farm with assorted livestock including forty head of cattle. After moving to Florida with her second husband, Richard and their son, Walter they purchased C & B Propeller and significantly grew the company for over twenty years. After selling it she moved to Largo and worked for many years at Custom Mobility until her retirement at the age of 82. She then moved to Lakeland to be closer to her son, Neil.
Jean was very active in her church. Whether living in Pennsylvania or Florida this was a high priority for her. She was a very direct and intelligent woman who took pride in raising her three boys to be respectful, good men.
Visitation will be held at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511, on April 24, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a Committal Service at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511, on April 24, 2026, at 3:00 pm.
