John Alfred DiBattista, born in New Britain, Connecticut on March 5,1943, passed away peacefully at his home in Valrico, Florida August 3,2026 surrounded by his loving family. John was preceded in death by his parents John A. DiBattista and Helen (Donati) DiBattista and his brother Nicholas J. DiBattista.
John is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Beverly (Bowden) DiBattista, son, John D. DiBattista of Apopka, Florida and daughter, Leah (DiBattista) Woodruff, Travis M. Woodruff and granddaughter, Savannah Woodruff of Valrico, Florida. He is also survived by his sisters, Rosemarie Gosselin and Ellen Dougherty. As well as many family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
After graduating New Britain High School John joined the United States Air Force in 1961 and served honorably for almost 22 years retiring in 1983. John was a dedicated patriot who served in Vietnam displaying unwavering courage and commitment. He was deeply respected by his fellow service members for his exceptional contributions to our nation. Following his military service, he continued to serve by being a Civil Service Employee for another 20 years until his final retirement.
John always enjoyed family gatherings and his presence at holidays and celebrations brought lots of laughs and smiles to those around him.
John had a passion for traveling which he shared with his wife, Beverly as they visited all 50 states and their capitals and took many cruises and trips to visit family and friends.
John was a loving, devoted husband, father and PopPop. He had a kind heart and quick wit and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511, US, on August 16, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:15 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511, on August 16, 2026, at 12:15 pm
A Committal Service will be held after the service at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens.
