John Thomas Donnell

John Thomas Donnell born January 7, 1936 to Fred & Ruth Donnell in Franklin, KY. John grew up on his father’s tobacco farm, along with his 3 brothers. He then eventually made his way to Georgia where he met the love of his life, Sarah Jeannette Law (Donnell), and eventually moved to Brandon, FL where they started a long, happy life together, and welcomed their 2 children, Joy and Thad (Rodney) Donnell. Many remember John’s favorite pass times in the garage where he did wood working, and always creating and perfecting the next project, listening to KAT Country, going fishing, singing silly songs to his 9 grandchildren, and ultimately taking care of his wife and children. John was a lover of Jesus, spreading His word, and keeping God at the forefront of the family. John leaves behind a great legacy. Survived by his wife, (Sarah) Jeannette Law Donnell, his son, Thad (Rodney) Donnell, brother, Jeff Donnell, and multiple grand children, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. Proceeded in death by daughter Joy Donnell Glass, passed July 25, 2025 in her fight with cancer.

A visitation will be held at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, located at 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL, 33511, on November 5, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The funeral service will take place at the same venue on November 6, 2025, starting at 10:00 am.

The committal service will follow at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, also at 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL, 33511, on November 6, 2025, at 11:00 am. Flowers and gifts may be sent to the funeral home.
