John was respected, admired and loved by many. He was intelligent, quick-witted and always had a story. He was a leader by example, never a follower and he would do anything for you as long as it didn’t require breaking or even bending the law. Then you were on your own and he would strongly advise against it. You never wanted to ask him anything you didn’t want an honest answer to and he would almost always give his opinion whether you asked for it or not.
John was a Boy Scout, an Army veteran, an apprentice, instructor, mentor, a lifesaver, son, brother, father, father-in-law, step-dad, uncle, grandpa, neighbor and friend. Above all he was a cop. And he lived his truth with little or no compromise. He always said he could sleep at night and surely now he is resting in peace.
