To the Watkins Family,  Linda  friendship is a wonderful part of our lives.  Gene and I are so blessed to have been yours and Joe's friend.
He could always make you smile or laugh.  He was a genuine person.
We are saddened by his leaving but celebrate that he is in a better place.  You and your family is in our hearts and prayers.

To the Watkins family, I hope you guys remember me My name is Margaret Blazer. I worked at East Bay for a long time and I had the pleasure of knowing Joe. He was always a kind person to me and was always joking with me.

Joe was MORE than a friend, we loved Joe like he was a very close part of our  own family.  I loved to kid Joe when we were at a restaurant or some other crowed place I would say, "I'm gonna give you a great big hug and a kiss".  Or I would reach out to hold his hand.  That always got a great response from Joe, most times not favorable, but he knew I was just kidding because that's what I do..  Of course, my wife, Susan would tell me to stop.  I would sit and watch the races with Joe.  He would tell me he knew who was going to win.  When his "predction" came true I would be amazed at how he knew.  Took me a while to realize that what we were watching was a taped prior race.  So Joe would always, in the quiet gentle humor,  would return the joking back my way.  Needless to say Susan and I will miss Joe, but, you know what we don't feel like we're saying, "Goodbye", just saying, "Till we meet again".  And we will meet with Joe again in Heaven, no doubt!!!!.  Will we  continue to kid each other, most probably?  Joe enjoy your rest you deserve it and we meet you again at the Ruth's restaurant in the sky.
Linda; Susan and I will continue to pray for you and the family asking God for His rich blessings of love, strength, comfort and guidance to be with you guys.  Of course, Susan and I are just down the street and we promise to be right with you in the days ti come, we'll not desert you as we continue to do things together.  THANK YOU JOE FOR BEING A VERY CLOSE PART OF OUR LIFE AND WE CELEBRATE YOUR LIFE!!!!!!

Dear Linda,
Please know that we care and that we are truly sorry we are not home to celebrate Joe's life at his memorial.  We certainly would have joined your neighbors and friends in Kingswood at the service.  I will miss him at the shuffleboard and lunches along with everyone who knew and loved him.
