Joyce Lorraine Zblewski Gedney passed away peacefully in her sleep to join our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 14, 2018. She was born to the late Henry and Pearl Zblewski in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on November 12, 1936. She was the wife of the late Norton S. Gedney and the sister to the late Gary Carr and Wayne Zblewski.
Joyce is survived by her seven children and spouses who she loved and adored with all her heart. Family always came first for Joyce and her life revolved around the many activities that keep a mother and grandmother busy. She is survived by her children, Ronald (Judy) Mattice, Jr., Rick (Carmen) Mattice, Dale (Betty) Mattice, Sr., Doreen Covert, Pamela Fernandez, Lori (Walter) Davis, and Gregory (Sherrie) Gedney. She also had 15 grandchildren, Ron, Brian, Dale, Zana, Kenny, Megan, Ryan, Lorena, Philip, Lauren, Tristin, Kira, Grant, and Audrey. One grandchild, Anthony, is now joined by his grandmother in Heaven. Joyce also had many great grandchildren.
Joyce loved to travel any way she could and enjoyed many memorable excursions with family. She enjoyed the beach, the mountains, theme parks, and sightseeing in general. She was always eager to jump in the car and go on a cross country road trip, occasionally pulling a pop-up tent, ensuring she stopped along the way to sightsee as much as possible. Or, to board a cruise ship and visit many different ports of call. She especially enjoyed cruises and realized a life-long dream of cruising in Alaska with her husband, Norton.
Joyce’s memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
Psalm 27:4 One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and seek him in his temple.
