Juan was born on June 24, 1939, to Mauricio Rodriguez and Maria Hortensia Rodriguez, in Guanajay, Pinar del Rio, Cuba. He is the youngest of nine children and the only one to move to the United States.
He met his wife, Maria Eulalia Rodriguez, in 1959 and were married April 14, 1962. They lived on the family farm until leaving Cuba in 1968. They had two children, Lazaro and Margarita.
Juan was predeceased by his parents, Mauricio & Maria Rodriguez, his eight siblings and several nieces and nephews.
He is survived by Maria, his wife of 63 years, his son, Lazaro Rodriguez, Sr., and Spouse, Erika; his daughter Margarita Rodriguez Prieto; his grandson, Lazaro Rodriguez, Jr., and spouse Jasmin; granddaughter Alexis Prieto; grandson Robert Duane Prieto, and spouse Jessica; granddaughter Maria del Carmen Rodriguez; and great-grandchildren, Julian Rodriguez, Ariana Rodriguez and Alexander Prieto.
