ARTIGA, Juana, 55, passed away March 1, 2018 in Tampa, FL. Born in Puerto Rico, she was a Child Protective Investigator with the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office, a member of Nativity Catholic Church, where she was a Eucharist Minister; she also loved scrapbooking, traveling, going to the movies, family gatherings, spending time with her grandchildren, and interior decorating. She is predeceased by her father Mario Aponte and sister Maria Aponte and is survived by her husband Pedro Artiga, son Miguel Angel Vega, daughters Nancy Cobb (James) and Veronica York (Ryan), mother Isabel Nunez, sisters Mayra Green (Ricky) and Nancy Jason (Carl), and grandchildren Isabella L. Cobb, Mariano W. Cobb and Johnny W. York and several other nieces, nephews, and extended family. Visitation will be Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 5-7p.m. at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, with Funeral Mass on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Nativity Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens.
