Judith (Judy) L Gallagher, 80, of Dover, received her heavenly reward on Sunday, June 9, 2024. She was born in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada and moved to FL when she was 19 yrs old. She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Wesley Gallagher and daughter, Amy Richardson; her parents Walter & Violet LeCras, sister, Sandy Slaney, and her brother, Edwin “Teddy” LeCras. She is survived by her children, David (Ursula) Gallagher, Heather Fertic, Susan (Derrick) Shearer; 10 grandchildren, Armindy (Josiah) Jones, Andrea (Justin) Pruitt, Anthony (Anna) Shearer, Emily Fertic, Selena (Richard) Arango, Alyssa Gallagher, Zachary Richardson, Joshua Shearer, Analiese Gallagher, Olivia Richardson; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family in US and Canada.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ; she lived her life for the Lord, always putting Him first. She had a very kind, generous, servant’s heart that she instilled in her children and grandchildren. She was a homemaker and stay-at-home mom; as well as a very talented seamstress and knitter. After 10 yrs of helping carpool her own children and others to and from the school, in 1984, she became the school secretary at Florida College Academy, in Temple Terrace, FL, until she retired in 1998. When she retired, she helped care for her grandchildren, traveled with her husband, and judged knitting, crocheting, and sewing entries at the Florida Strawberry Festival.
She loved and was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and was thrilled to brag on them at every opportunity given to her.
She very recently reconnected with some of her family in Canada and was overjoyed for the opportunity to meet with them in person.
She will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her.
