I always made it a point to call Jules on all the Patriotic holidays, so of course I'm thinking about him today.

I think of Jules often, having known him since grade school, and then having him marry my best friend Gale. In recent years, we were Facebook friends, and I so  enjoyed his many funny jokes  sent daily via e-mail…..Rest in Peace, dear friend!

My Great Uncle Jules, Kyle and Sebastian here and we want to say now you can finally be with your sister again! You finally got out of this crazy world! That’s an upgrade in my eye. You will be deeply missed by family and friends, we all do ask you to keep watch over us please. Take care uncle Jules, until we meet again! I love you. Give nana a big hug and kiss for me. Amen.

Mr. Fijux, just like any other best friends dad, always looked out for the boys!  First phone call on my darkest day, “please get me out of jail!”. Just like a best friends dad, made me stay the night!  Thank you for teaching me that lesson…..hence 30 years later, never got arrested again!   LOVE ALWAYS!!! xo

When my family and I heard the news. We were really sad.
We had known Jules since 1998 through the IPA. We went to see him once in NY and later in Florida. But we never stop writing to each other.
Jules was a good guy, generous, welcoming.
A friend as we like to have.
Here in France, we often spoke of him, proud to have an American friend. He was proud to be a police officer. We were both policemen.
Jules was a person with a big heart, we will never forget him.
We pray for Jules.

Uncle Jules, you will be missed more than i can say. I  have several memories to share. Mainly that you were present on all of your nieces special days when we got married. Your sister's 60 birthday surprise party and also the summer when we were all quite young and my sisters and I spent the day with you and our cousins in your pool and beautiful home in New York. I also remember the weekend we all visited you in Coral Springs. Great time with you and our families. It just breaks my heart and I'm so sad for all of us loved ones you left behind. But I know you are in a better place, out of pain and hanging with your beloved sister Barb looking down on us all.. We all love and miss you Uncle Jules. May you RIP 🙏 🙏❤❤ Your niece, Lori xoxo

My friendship with Jules will be dearly missed.  We went through alot together and we always supported each other. I mostly will miss our talks, our laughs and our discussions on life.  Rest in piece my dear friend,  You will never be forgotten. 

Jules, Lisa and Family - I am so sad to hear that your Dad has passed. Our families have been friends since the mid 70's. We had wonderful times together. We had best time at the PBA Friar Tuck vacations. 'Uncle Jules' was always in the middle of the fun. I took my mom to visit him a few years back and although it had been many years since we had seen him, he hadn't changed a bit. We reminisced about the old days and laughed the entire time. He called Nancy often just to chat, share a laugh or to make sure she was ok. He would even call during snowstorms to make sure we were all home safe. I will hold my memories of him close to my heart forever. He will forever be our 'Uncle Jules'. I am very sure that Michael and your dad are shaking things up in Heaven. May he Rest In Peace.

I was in the same S.C.P.D. graduation class with Jules and formed a bond as we were the oldest at the time.  I will always remember him as a gentleman and a hard working cop.

Saddened to learn of Jules passing. I worked with him while assigned to the SCPD Sixth Precinct. Jules was a good guy, always kind, great sense of humor and a professional.
My sympathies to his family.

I worked with Jules at the Sixth Precinct.   Always the gentleman  who could calm a situation and gain cooperation from  the most unruly characters with his verbal skills. A well respected officer we learned from.  And always a pleasure to be around we will all miss him. 

Jules was a character, always fun at a party when he was there. It worked with Jules on Highway Patrol in the 70's, he was about 5 years older, so he was the old guard. I also worked motorcycle in the early 80s. He was always a stand up guy. He will be missed by many friends.


I worked with Jules when he was in the 6th Pct Crime Section   He was a true gentleman and one of the nicest people I ever met. He wound up doing all the photography for my parents 50th anniversary and did a superb job and his photos adorn my home. I was so saddened to hear of his passing

Jules and I became good friends when we both entered the S C P D Academy in September of 1968.  We actually become members Study group of four students.  We graduated together and were assigned to different commands but always kept in touch.  We were always friends and I am deeply saddened by his passing.

Jules and I were partners when he first came into highway and then on the motors.  
One story that stands out was when he was building an addition at the house.  He went to the lumber yard and asked the price of 2x4s.
The clerk told him the price and jules said that they were a dollar cheaper at the other lumber yard.  The clerk told him he should go to the other yard.  Jules said that they were out of them.  The clerk said when were are out of them they are two dollars cheaper.
Jules was a good partner and friend and he kept me laughing.
I talked to him about three weeks ago and he said he and Paco were just fine.

I was in the academy with Jules in 1968.  He was a gentleman, always poised, no-one to mess with, professional and was always with a smile and in good spirits.  Suffolk County was very fortunate to have such a great person to serve the communities where he worked.

Jules was one of the nicest guys I ever knew.   During the years we worked together in the 6th Precinct he was always there anytime anyone needed help, or whenever there was a job that needed done.
Jules was the one who brought me into the I.P.A., and was also the one who tutored me and encouraged me to go into photography.
His humor, warmth, and kindness left a mark on everyone who knew him.  One of my regrets in life was that we lost touch for so many years after I left the precinct, but I am glad we reconnected by email a couple years ago.
Jules was truly one of the good guys.  I will miss him.

He and Gail stuck by me even though they got heat for doing so.
We connected after many years when I learned he lived in Florida.  
We exchanged emails on a weekly basis and I would often call him and laugh about the jokes we read. 
I always called him on Memorial Day and Veterans day to thank him.
One time, when we were flying back from Jamaica and had a three hour layover, he picked us up and took us to dinner, he was a gracious host and we enjoyed each others company talking about old times. 
My memories of him were always about his great smile and his great personality!

We have been friends of Jules for over 25 years when we first met through the IPA.  He was always a great person to be with.  I remember when he first got Paco.  He was a great companion for Jules.  Jules was always the type person that would help you with anything he could.  He loved to cook and wanted to show off his culinary skills when we stayed over with him.  He will be missed by all and nothing will be able fill the void he has left of my memories of him.

I am so very sorry, and send sincere condolences to Gale, Wendy, Jules, Jr., and the entire family. I have known Jules since we were 12 years old, attending Farmingdale schools together.  He married my best friend, Gale, and so our friendship remained for over 65 years. I spoke to him a few times over the last couple of weeks. He told me his health was not good, but made some jokes (as he always did) about old age.  I will miss his email jokes, and never forget my dear friend…..God Speed!🙏
