

Jose is survived by his wife, Mariamma, child, Anita, grandchildren, Yazmine, Joseph and Jacob and siblings Alikutty K.C. and Thresiamma Thomas. He is preceded in death by children, Arun and Alka, as well as his siblings, Lukose Kuzhiparambil, Mathai Kuzhiparambil, and Lucy Mathai.
Jose was born on May 1, 1947 in Kaipuzha, Kerala to Chacko and Anna Kuzhiparambil. He moved to Delhi, India in his 20’s and worked for CRS (Catholic Relief Services). It was there that he was introduced to Mariamma, a nurse also working in Delhi, through their families. They were married in October 1973. Over the next few years, the couple welcomed three children into their home, Anita, Arun and Alka. His children will always remember him as a caring father who consistently encouraged them to pursue their best.
Jose Kuzhiparambil was a dedicated community leader, generous philanthropist, and beloved member of the Knanaya Catholic community. Jose leaves behind an enduring legacy of service, faith, and compassion.
Throughout his life, Jose was deeply involved in the Indian Catholic community. In 1988, he served as President of the Indian Knanaya Catholic Congress (IKCC) in New York, where he played a pivotal role in strengthening community bonds and supporting cultural and spiritual initiatives. Professionally, he was known for his commitment and strong work ethic for over 25 years of service with the New York Transit Authority.
Following his retirement, Jose moved to Lakeland, Florida, where he remained an active member of the Knanaya community in the Tampa area. He maintained a lifelong commitment to helping those in need and was known for his remarkable generosity. He was frequently among the highest contributors supporting the poor and the sick in his hometown of Palathuruthu, Kottayam, Kerala. His quiet acts of kindness and unwavering commitment to charity touched countless lives.
Jose will be remembered as a loving son, devoted husband, caring father, charismatic friend with an impeccable sense of humor, and for his dedication to his community both in the United States and in India. His legacy of service and generosity will continue to inspire all who knew him.
To honor Jose’s life, a viewing is scheduled for 9:00am Monday June 1st at the Sacred Heart Kanaya church (3920 S Kings Ave, Brandon, FL 33511), followed by the funeral mass at 10:00am and burial at Oak Hill Cemetery (4620 US Hwy 98 South, Lakeland, FL 33812), with a Mantra and reception to follow at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 1820 E. County Road 540A, Lakeland, FL 33813. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jose Kuzhiparambil's life.
