Laura Crane loved her family to the moon and back.
February 14th, 2024 we said goodbye. After 61 years of life and 45 years of marriage, Laura passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by those she loved. We now have a new definition of Valentine’s Day. It is not just a day to love your forever companion, but a day to love everyone you hold dear.
Laura grew up with her parents Jean and Brady in Tahlequah Oklahoma. Laura grew into a beautiful & strong woman who was also an amazing big sister to her little sister Lisa.
Laura was special, and her husband Jeff knew it. The way Laura loved Jeff is what you would imagine in a fairytale and no matter how many years went by their love never wavered. Devoted is just skimming the surface of how loyal she was as a wife.
“Mom” is who Laura was to her three children Jeffery, Jennifer & Gabrielle. Laura and her husband Jeff spent their lives with one goal: to give their children the opportunity to find happiness and pursue their dreams. Laura was a loving mother who worked and raised their children, often while Jeff was away serving his country in the Air Force. Laura and Jeff traveled extensively and had their first baby, Jeffery in Mississippi, Jennifer was born in Spain five years later & Gabrielle in Florida 17 years after Jennifer. In addition to her three children, Laura was also considered “mom” to a large number of young people over the years who looked up to her and counted on her for help and advice when they needed it.
“Nana” is what Laura’s grandchildren called her. Jonah, Sydney, Everest, Grayson, Laylah, Abbey, Roselyn & Bryce all held a special place in Laura’s heart. Seeing her grandchildren grow up and succeed at their passions brought her an abundance of joy.
Laura was the most selfless person her family knew. Even through her fight with cancer (October 2022-February 2024) she never once complained about treatments, medications, symptoms or pain. She kept fighting to make sure those she loved would be okay. Laura’s love and strength will always be remembered.
There is going to be Wake/Celebration of Life Wednesday, February 21st, starting at 7 PM at Gasparilla Restaurant for anyone who wants to come. They’re closing at 7 PM to pay their respects to Laura. She was their HR Director and matriarch of the Gasparilla family.
