Larry (Lawrence) Hodge peacefully departed our world at home surrounded by his loved ones on the eve of his 85th birthday, November 7th, 2025. He was preceded in death by his Father, Harry Hodge and his Mother, Esther Fay Hodge, as well as his brother Lewis. Larry was born in the Bronx, New York on November 8th, 1940. He resided in the Bronx with his loving mother until their move to Miami when he was seven-years-old, where he lived with his family for the remainder of his childhood. Larry graduated from Hialeah High School in 1959, and upon graduation he attended the University of Florida before serving a grateful nation in the Vietnam Conflict. Professionally, Larry was a successful salesman who was known for his kind smile and firm handshake. A proud member of the Airplane Owners and Pilots Association, as well as several other civic organizations, Larry was a community-minded patriot whose love of his country was only exceeded by the love he had for his family. He will be remembered for his quick wit and gregarious personality. Larry is survived by his wife Laurie, his sister Alana, his daughter Kim, his son Robbie (Melanie), and his daughter Jackie (Arthur), as well as six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many other relatives.
Lawrence will enter his final resting place at the Sarasota National Cemetery located in Sarasota, Florida on Wednesday, November 19th at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to LifePath Hospice, the American Heart Association, or the American Kidney Fund.
