OWENS, Lelia Virginia, 76 entered into rest on September 8, 2016. Born in Hawkinsville, Georgia, she was predeceased by her husband Charles R. Owens; sisters, Frances Mullis, Gladys Neighbors, Oree Owen and brother, Ellis Cromer. She is survived by her daughter, Lajena (Gina) Bares (Marcos), grandson, Joshua Bares, brother Dan Cromer (Betty) and sister Myrtle Everett and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Lelia was well known for her very stylish and coordinated attire. She impeccably color coordinated her clothing, shoes, purses and jewelry. She was also revered for her cooking and baking. Her great-niece Stacey Kelley recently shared “Heaven gained an angel today. She was a lady of a few words, but her smile and laugh made up for it. She will be missed but she will always be in our hearts. Memories are forever and cherished always.”
