Lelys Santiago Cotto

Lelys is survived by her five children: Andres Gonzalez Santiago, Lelys Gonzalez Santiago, Bernardo Cruz Santiago, Eddie Gines Santiago Jr. and Edwin Gines Santiago and siblings: Leida Santiago Cotto, Ruth Santiago Cotto, Diana Valdepena, James Santiago, Angel L. Montañez, Wanda Santiago Gregg.

Lelys was preceded by her late brother Victor Santiago Jr. and parents Daisy Cotto and Victor Santiago Sr.

Lelys was born on July 19, 1953 in Caguas, Puerto Rico to her late parents Victor Santiago Sr.and Daisy Cotto .

Lelys was a very hardworking and loving woman who always provided for her children; an amazing soul with a contagious smile always willing to volunteer and lend a helping hand to family and friends.

Lelys's favorite hobbies were going to the Casino with her cousins, attend community parties especially “El Fresco” every Saturday held at the Caguas, Puerto Rico plaza, road trips, rallies and Bingo games. Lelys loved her family gatherings for holidays, weddings and birthdays. She would visit church Saturdays and some Sundays; in latter years accepted Jesus as her Lord and Saviour.

Lilly was very proud of her Puerto Rican roots and enjoyed being with family and friends in her hometown Las Carolinas, Caguas, Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.

Lelys family and friends will honor her life Friday October 3, 2025 at the Hillsborough Memorial Funeral home visitation 9:30 am to 12:00 noon, Funeral service 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm.

Burial will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.
