She was one of six children, and she graduated from Rochester High School in 1956. She moved to Tampa, Florida, in 1957 and started to work at Tampa Electric Company as the receptionist for the Personnel Department at the Dale Mabry office. It was at Tampa Electric Company that she met Robert (Bobby) Arnold. They were married on September 2, 1960, at the First Baptist Church of Brandon. Bobby and Linda were married for 60+ years and had two children: Robby, and David. Linda was a breast cancer survivor, and she was bedridden for only four days after battling Parkinson’s disease for 29 years. She went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 1, at 12:30 in the afternoon. She is survived her husband, Bobby Arnold, and her two sons: Robby (& Michele) and David (& Diane) Arnold. She was preceded in death by her sister, Judy May Hopkins, and she is survived by her sisters: Janet Lois (& Ron) Tarr, Leta Marlene Whitson; and her two brothers: Valmore Edward Whitson (& Marian) and Stuart Whitson. Bob, so very sorry for your loss. Right now things are looking grim, but you will get through, this ordeal. I was devastated, when I lost my wife of 50 years four years ago. It was a very dark time, so I can readily sympathize with what you are feeling. But, I was able to get past it, with time, as you will. Never forgotten, but, always in your heart. One never thinks about, being left on this earth, alone, after your loved one, and best friend, departs first. Sadly, that is life.
My condolences, to your family.
