Linden always had larger than life dreams; fueled by his amazing God given gifts centered on the arts. His gift of song and graphic arts, along with his natural inquisitiveness made him stand out from his peers as a student, lyricist and artist. Linden decided to take his talents to New York City in 1964, to attend the School of Visual Arts where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree. Following graduation, he worked within the nationally renowned Graphic Firm, Techni Process (1968-1989).
All that knew Linden would agree that the power of his personality made him a natural salesman. It was because of this ability his transition to sales with World Book Educational Products, as a door-to-door salesman made so much sense. Everyone who met Linden walked away with a presentation, and because of that tenacity, his was promoted to Division Manager (1974-2000). Prior to the advent of the internet, there was Linden Mason introducing the public to the world through World Book. He retired in 2003, but maintained his sales fire through his time with Ferman Mazda Cars, as a product specialist (2004-2020).
After he emigrated to NYC, he married his only love, Norma Mowatt and they were together for over 58 years. They built a life that generated beautiful memories of their travels, lifelong friendships and their growing family. The first set of memories that came as a married couple were within in their first home on Valentine Avenue in the Bronx. Then the famous 226 street in Queens, NY (32 years), only to be followed by their current home in Valrico, Florida; where he set down roots to create new friends, church members and coworkers.
Over the years, Linden had a passion for the arts, particularly for Jazz music. He was a walking encyclopedia on all of the jazz greats. He had such an expertise that he could have been a Radio Disc Jockey for any Jazz station. Although, he may have loved Jazz music deeply, he would have told you that he loved saving souls through his active membership at Bell Shoals Baptist Church. There Linden could be seen as an usher, working within the Outreach Ministries, guiding parishioners as a First Look Tours volunteer, and a major contributor to his Men’s Life Group and Sunday School Worship.
Linden is survived by the love of his life, wife, Norma Elaine Mason; children, Dr. Tania Mason-Eastmond, Linden Mason; six amazing grandchildren, Aiden Eastmond, Amaris Eastmond, Mya Mason, Kayla Mason, Kaleb Mason, Troy Mason; two great grandchildren, Lennox Mason & Cynthia Mason. Ephesians 2:8-10
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
