Luana is survived by her children, Jess (Michelle) Robinson and Melissa (Bernardo) Robinson; siblings Marie Zander, Carole (John) Gilbert, and Terrance (Deborah) Olson; sisters-in-law Helen Olson and Carol Olson; and two grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Leon Olson, Lewis Olson, and Rodney Olson.
Luana was born on June 27, 1954, in Brainerd, Minnesota, to Carl and Maude (Morcomb) Olson. She graduated from Brainerd High School in 1972. Shortly after high school she got married and moved to Grand Marias, Minnesota, then on to Alaska for a short time before moving back to Brainerd where she spent most of her life raising her family and running her home business as a daycare provider. Later in life she moved to Connecticut where she transformed the “Mill House” into her home. She then moved to Florida to be closer to her grandchildren. Over the years her adventurous spirit brought her to places as far as New Zealand and Fiji.
She was incredibly creative and artistic; passionate about crafting, garage saling, “junking,” and turning salvage items into unique treasures. She also loved food, cooking, gardening, and hosting. Her family was everything to her, and she always had a way of making every get-together fun and memorable.
A small service with immediate family will be held on July 1, 2026, at Stowers Funeral Home in Brandon, Florida. To celebrate her life with loved ones throughout the country we will be creating a digital memorial that will be sent to family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, we would be grateful if you choose to honor her memory with a donation to a charity that is meaningful to you.
