ZAYAS, Luis Antonio (CAPT. USA. Ret), 94, went to be with the Lord Friday, May 17, 2013. Luis was blessed with a long and beautiful life of service. Luis served his country in the US Army for over thirty years then served his community as a Deacon at St. Richard Catholic Church in Miami, FL and also at Nativity Catholic Church in Brandon, FL. Luis is predeceased by his loving wife, Lucy; Luis is survived by his three children, Luis A. Zayas Jr., Dennis Zayas, Sharon Zayas-Rhyce, their spouses, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and treasured friends. Wake services for Deacon Lou will be held at Nativity Catholic Church, Brandon, FL., on Monday, May 20, 2013 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 12:30pm at Nativity Catholic Church. Interment will be at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery in Miami, FL., at 1:00pm on Wednesday, May 22, 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Deacon Lou to the Nativity Food Bank.
