Maria Luz Faria, 87, of Valrico, went to be with the Lord Monday, March 25, 2013. She enjoyed decorating cakes, but most of all loved being a dedicated wife and mother to 8 children. Maria was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Silvestre P. Faria; daughter, Cecilia de Fatima Martins Faria; and granddaughter, Luisa F. Castro. Survivors include daughters, Luiza Faria (Cody) Palmer and Maria Adalgiza Faria (Pedro) Pinheiro; sons, Luis Antonio (Irenia Sousa) Faria, Joao Vincente Faria, Luis Jose Faria (Salima Kabani), Silvestre Martins (Lori C.) Faria, and Manuel Antonio (Emily) Faria; 22 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held 7-9 pm Thursday, March 28 with a catholic funeral service to follow on Friday, March 29 at 2 pm. All services will be held at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, Brandon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Maria’s honor to LifePath Hospice, 12470 Telecom Drive, Suite 300 West, Temple Terrace, FL 33637. Maria will be dearly missed by her family and friends, but will live on in their hearts and memories.
