On behalf of our family, we would like to thank everyone here and for those who have sent their condolences. We received countless phone calls, e-mails, texts, thoughts and prayers. They have been comforting during this difficult time and have been a reminder of the impact that our mother had on so many others.

Maria was a housewife and mother. She had a traditional marriage staying at home to care for her children. Her love of fashion inspired her to become a seamstress. She would often sew her own wardrobe including tailored suits, loved reading books and studying the bible. Throughout her adult life, she was an active member of her church. She and her husband moved to the United States in 1963 to look forward to better opportunities. After working for a few years, they brought their children from Dominican Republic to the United States to start a new life.
Robert, the youngest of 4 children remembers from his youth, that mom was always caring, and she consistently instilled in us that we should trust and have faith in God for our spirit continues after we leave this earth.
Robert can remember that when he was a small child, he would draw comfort in laying his head on our mom’s lap and everything would be alright.
Ana, the 3rd child also remembers the many people that came from Dominican Republic with a dream to make a better life in the US. Our parents sheltered them for months until they got jobs and a place to live. They helped multiple families start their lives in the U.S. My mom had a lot of faith and Ana remembers the stories she would tell from the bible. Mom wanted to ensure she passed on her faith just as her mother passed on her faith to her.
On Behalf of all her grandchildren, “Grandma had the gentlest soul and the warmest heart. Just being near her made you feel safe and loved. Her kindness filled every room, and her love will stay with us forever”
We are going to greatly miss Maria and are grateful for her dedication to her family. We love you, mom and may the Lord accept you with open arms.
