Titi, 
Al saber que estabas malas y yo tenia un viaje programado… no lo pensé dos veces y ya había hecho los planes para verte. No me pude despedir, no me esperaste 🥺. Gracias por las historias, que siempre que te visitaba, me contabas y las llevo como si fuesen mías. Los regalos cuando pequeños, que todavía tenemos los bordados y los ponemos de navidad siempre. Las explicaciones por tu colección y obsesión con las vacas jajaja y sobre todo, los consejos. La ultima vez que nos vimos después de hablar un rato me reconociste y te pelié por no querer caminar. Tu contestación fue: que camine Taty por mi. Nos reímos. Eso es lo que querías que siempre estuvieramos riendo.

My Titi Mary—the aunt of all aunts for me. She was the second mom, always present, one of a kind, talented, generous, and fiercely loving kind of aunt. She was also my mom’s lifelong confidant, best friend, and constant companion. They spent practically every day together. Where one was, the other was never far behind. It was a bond that was unshakable and beautiful to witness—-ever since I could remember, and all the way through their final moments together. My aunt was always near,  always selfless, always strong even when she didn’t think so, and she laughed hardest at her own jokes. I followed right along with her. Every action she took was thoughtful, every gesture full of care. Even in her quiet, she let me know she was there, seeing me, cheering me on in her own way. She was good at surprises and beautifully handwritten greeting cards, complete with stick figure moo-cows and the “moooocho” signatures as nods to her playful love for them. My aunt could chat your ear off one moment, then quietly hold space for you the next. As she grew less chatty and less mobile, she would ask me to sit with her on the couch. And then I’d be the one talking—about anything—past times, tv novelas, celebrities, and even retelling her own chistes, bromas, y cuentos que ella misma me había contado a lo largo de los años. We’d talk about her crochet yarn, hair curlers, denim jackets, and Olay face cream, (None of which were ever more than an arm’s reach away!). She’d follow along as best as she could, and I’d stumble through my Español as best as I could. And dare we forget her denim hat while rolling out to the grocery store in her wheelchair. I’ll never forget these moments. I’ll never forget her. I’ll miss her endlessly.

My dearest family , my deepest sorrow-for your loss  .. prayers for comforting to all of our family and friends. She will be greatly missed .May she rest in peace .🙏🏼👼🏻

My beloved aunt was beautiful—inside and out. From as far back as I can remember, she wrapped me in her unconditional love, a love that never wavered and always lifted me up. I will deeply miss our long conversations, our shopping trips, sharing meals, and those sweet moments when we’d pause everything just to take a selfie.

She is the reason I fell in love with denim and photography 😊 — two passions that now carry even more meaning. May 2nd will never be the same without her, but it will always be a day to celebrate her life, her laughter, and the joy she brought to all of us.

Descansa en paz, mi querida tía. Tu amor vive en cada recuerdo, cada sonrisa y cada foto que nos tomamos juntas. Nunca te olvidaremos!
