Martha W Brooks

Martha Brooks, 80, formerly of Brandon, FL passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 23, 2023, following a brief illness. Martha is lovingly remembered by her son Michael (Lisa); two grandchildren Lindsey (Trevor) and Blake (Vanessa); two great-grandchildren, Savannah and Averie; a sister Lorraine Wade; two nieces Rhonda (Bobby) and Robin of Hernando, MS as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Brooks, her parents Curtis and Mary Warren, brother-in-law Don Wade and nephew Steve Wade.

Martha worked as a Comptroller for J. Allen Construction and Hillsborough County Medical Association for over 50 years. She was an extremely dedicated and accomplished accountant until her retirement in 2015.

Martha was a private and quiet person, but also very witty and fun loving. She had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening. She was also an exceptional cook and baker, best known for her delicious desserts but more importantly her amazing rum cakes. She shared her passion and love of baking with her family, her many friends and neighbors. She will be sadly missed and will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Martha touched are invited to the Hillsboro Memorial & Stowers Funeral Home, 2323 W Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL. A visitation for Martha will be held Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service will occur from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM with a graveside service immediately following.
