Marvin Hale Childers

He was born in Tampa, Florida to John and Verba Lee Childers (Sapp), and was one of four children.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Pearl; parents, John and Verba Lee Childers; daughter, Joyce Childers; siblings, Joyce Fillyaw, Bill and James Childers.

He is survived by his son, Lee (Jackie) Childers; daughter, Valerie (Scott) Reader; grandchildren, Brandi (Shawn) Conley, Brandon Childers; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn and Logan Conley. He was a loving and devoted husband, father grandfather, and great-grandfather.

His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He also enjoyed fishing and boating, and especially loved going to Piney Point cast netting. He loved being outdoors and had a great affection for cats and raccoons. He will be forever loved and greatly missed.

A funeral service for Marvin will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2026 at Brandon Fellowship Baptist Church, 2700 John Moore Road, Brandon, Florida. Interment to follow in Garden Of Memories Cemetery, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.

Following the graveside service, family and friends are welcome to gather at the home of Lee and Jackie Childers, 2925 Washington Rd., Valrico, FL 33594.
