Mary Jane Pitts

Mary Jane (Rose) Pitts, 82, of Palm Harbor, Florida ascended to her heavenly home on September 21, 2023. Her greatest testimony was that she was a faithful Godly Mother.

Mary was born on August 27, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Joseph E Rose, Sr., and Sally Margaret (Runion). Mary was often called “Midge” by her siblings which was a name bestowed upon her by her grandfather because she was so tiny.

Her greatest joys were spending time with her family and friends, reading her bible, crocheting, and playing cards with friends. As an avid card player, Mary was hard to beat. She won the best game she ever played as she ascended into the arms of Jesus in Heaven.

Mary was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant which was one of her proudest accomplishments.

Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 46-years, Larry H. Pitts; five brothers, Joseph S. Rose (Elvie) of Hayesville, KS, Ronnie Rose (Jackie) of Tampa, FL, Terry Rose (Jackie) of Trenton, FL, David Rose (Judy) of Onalaska, TX, Clifford Rose of Onalaska, TX; two sisters, Beaula Jean Rose (Robert Moore) of Lansing, MI, Rosiland Lee (Fary) of Pensacola, FL; and one daughter Robin (Pitts) Gillan.

She is survived by her loving sister, Patricia (Lee) Brown (Darrell) of Wilson, NC; 8-children, Ronnie Manning (Penny) of Folkston, GA, Grace Manning of Haines City, FL, Hope Dione of New Port Richey, FL, Judy Biggs of Tampa, FL, Emily Gene (Earl) Glassen of Zephyrhills, FL, Barry (Carol) Pitts of Spring Hill, FL, Joel Pitts of Tampa, FL; Daniel (Gwen) Pitts of Land O’ Lakes, FL; two very special nieces, Susan Martin (Steve Remus) of Riverview, FL, Mary Ruth McDuffie (Ray) of Robertsdale, AL, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for Mary will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511.
