Shaw, Mary Joy, 74, of Tampa passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 10, 2010. Born October, 17, 1936 in Dallas, Texas to Arthur and Mildred Mankis. Joy taught school in Cleveland Ohio for over 30 years and moved to Tampa, Florida from Cleveland, Ohio. She was employed at H & R Block for the past eight years. Joy began singing at the age of five and it was a life long passion. She became a member of the Sweet Adelines International, Toast of Tampa Show Chorus in October 1994. Survivors include her daughter, Heather A. Shaw; sister, Jane A. Mankis; brother, Thomas M. Mankis; sister in law, Joanne Mankis, niece, Stacey Mankis Hallet and nephew, Gregory Mankis. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 from 7:30pm to 9:30pm at Temple Terrace Community Church, 210 Inverness Avenue. Tampa 33617.
