

Matilda Marygrace Marquez Vath, age 84, of Apollo Beach, Florida passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021. Matilda was born May 26, 1937 to Pedro Marquez and Mary Villareale in Bronx, New York, Whom she is predeceased by.
They later moved to Long Island, New York where she met the love of her life, John Lawrence Vath Sr., whom she later wed on July 20th 1958. They created their family together and had three children, John Lawrence Vath Jr., of Tampa, Fl. Joseph Peter Vath and Carleen Diann Vath Lester, both of Apollo Beach, Fl. Matilda Marquez Vath was a Mother of 3, a Grandmother (Mama) of 8 ( Jolene Lester, John L Vath III, Alyssa Pacheco and husband John, Robert Vath (Deceased) Jacob Vath, Zarchary Vath, Briahhna Gilliam and Julia Lester) and a Great Grandmother 3 (Robert Vath Jr., Jace Vath and Declan Pacheco) with many extended family through marriage and relationships, which include Joseph's Fiancée Hope LePoidevin, her children Anthony and grandson Harley, Amanda and Phillip Wanner, and Alex Lipphardt; Robert Vath Jr.’s mother Kari Schmidt and brother Ryker, and John Vath III’s partner Christina Jackson with her children Aniya and JJ. Mom also had many cousins that she loved dearly throughout the US and extended Islands including Culebra, Puerto Rico, which is where her father’s Marquez family heritage came from; she loved it there most.
Her careers were many through her years, although for over 25 years Matilda and her husband John owned and operated Big John’s Bail Bonds, which she continued to do until her final days.
Services will be private at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens on August 24, 2021, with her mass at Nativity Catholic church, which will all be viewable online and published @ www.HillsboroMemorial.com.
