Tony, my condolences to you and the family on Mike’s passing.  I know my husband Rick thought a lot of him.  I’m hoping they are both hanging together in Heaven.  RIP Mike.  Say hello to Rick for me!

Its sad to hear about Mike’s passing. He was a good person and left us way to soon. I remember the days when he and other friends of ours use to roadie for our band and he would drive us in his vehicle all over Florida to play shows. I miss those times. You will be missed Mike. It sucks that you’re gone but you have no more pain or suffering and you’re in a better place. Until we meet again my friend.

Mike was one of the best people I ever knew    No one can ever bring the energy and knowledge that he brought into this world.  I hope that there is a great afterlife waiting for you, with everything you enjoy

My wife and I send our sincerest condolences to the Alvarez family. I knew Mike for over 20 years of doing Living History events together. I knew that I could always rely on Mike for advice because he was knowledgeable about many different subjects of Military History.
He will be greatly missed. Brother Mike.

Dear Mike-
First off I want to say our family has had a tragic loss.
You were such a nice person very quiet but very attentive to only the important things around you.
I'll never forget you bringing your army jeep to my mother's house and me getting to sit it  you were so happy getting to show it off to the family.
I will forever miss your wit ... your stories about reenactment and the laughs we had over Bigfoot.
I also want to thank you for bringing happiness into my sister's life at that particular time. You and Connie had a lot of fun together and special memories that only you two know about and  got to share together ❤ 
Thank you being a part of my life and my journey and giving me the chance to know you... I was the lucky one.

I will treasure our last seven months together until the Lord takes me home as He has taken you. On that day we will rejoice together once again. I loved you from the first moment I saw you. I am so proud of you and all your accomplishments even though you had so many more to conquer. Any father would be proud to have you as a son but I’m glad you were mine. I thank God for allowing me to have this moment with you. I love you so much and the tears that fall down my face only remind me of how much I am going to miss you but also how happy you are now being with the Lord and seeing all those you missed and loved once again.

I can't believe you're gone. We shared many laughs around campfires and living history events over the years. Mike had a great sense of humor and was an excellent storyteller. I was always happy to see him and check out his latest display or impression that he had put together. Mike was a true amateur historian and very knowledgeable about the different eras and impressions he put together. He was also a talented artist, painting WWII-style bomber jackets and other items over the years. While we hadn't crossed paths in a number of years, I seldom think about the hobby without thinking about Mike. Thanks for the memories.

Mike..you were my friend and my brother.  We were together through all of each others good times, bad times and lessons learned the hard way.  I could not have asked for a better person to make my journey with.  We had so many plans for retirement and so many trips we planned to take. I am going to take all of those trips and fullfill all of our dreams and I will take you with me. Wherever there are mountains and cryptids and documentaries of war.... you will be there.  Connie , your family, your friends and I will make sure you are never forgotten. Thank you for being a faithful friend and brother. I love you to the event horizon and I will meet you there.
