Muriel was the beloved wife of the late Charles Edward Haehnel for 41 years until he passed away in 1986. Loving mom of Doug (Dot) Haehnel, Tom (Rose) Haehnel, Nancy (Carl) Spiess, Bob (Karen) Haehnel, Chuckie (Terry) Haehnel, Linda (Rob) Toth, Laurie Sims (Ken Porter) and the late James Buchanan Haehnel (2003).

Dear sister of Nancy (The late Leonard) Elias, Sam (Shirley) Hanley, The late George ( Dottie) Hanley, The late Robert and the late Margaret (Will) Peterson. Sister-in-law of Lois and Twila Hanley. Muriel will also be missed by a large and loving extended family and circle of friends.
She worked as a secretary and an entertainer throughout her life. Muriel loved Quest @ Kingsway, barbershop music, playing piano, poker, pinochle, Up-Words and everyone who came into her life. She was a part of the Red Hat Ladies as well as the Sweet Adeline's. She wrote the official school song for Western High School which still exists today.
Visitation will be held from 2-3 pm at Quest @ Kingsway on Saturday, March 22, 2014 with a memorial service to follow at 3 pm. Muriel will be deeply missed by her friends and family, but will live on forever in their hearts, music and memories.
