Nancy Ann Melton

Nancy was born in Joliet, Illinois

She graduated from Joliet Township High School in 1959

National Honor Society; Operetta: Acapella Choir; Madrigals; FHA; FNA; Red Cross; student librarian; President Spanish Club

After graduating from high school, Nancy married and had 6 children.

She worked hard, in a variety of careers including Nurse Tech, Income Tax Consultant and Medical Claims Adjuster. She loved music. She played piano and sang her entire life, first in school, publicly, and in church.

Nancy retired in 2013. She remained involved in caring for her children and grandchildren and was active in her church.

Nancy is survived by her children, Sheldon J Cook, Debra C Spence, Donna J Lanham, Dawn R Willson and her step-children, Charles S Melton, Kim R Blakely, and Rebecca L Lowe. Also, 9 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Jerome J and Dorothy B. Stewart; her husbands, James O. Cook and Smallwood Melton and 2 of her daughters, Darlene Cook Baumgardner and Diane Lynn Cook.
