DeGennaro, Norma Joan, 82, of Tampa passed away December 28, 2011. She was born on December 29, 1928 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Eugene and Helen Ferry. Norma was a career Navy wife and enjoyed rearing her children. She loved playing bingo, going to garage sales, watching soap operas, and clipping coupons. She donated her time volunteering for a crisis center. Norma was predeceased by her parents; brother Robert Ferry; sister Jeanette Hallowell; grandson Anthony DeGennaro and Scott Burrows. She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years Joe DeGennaro; sons James (Merita), Steve, Robert, Larry (Leslie) and Joseph (Sheila); daughter Norma Jean DeGennaro Burrows (Byron); sisters Barbara Facer, Caryll Cole (Bruce) and Karen Brown (Charlie); sister-in-law Gaynell Ferry; brother-in-law Eddie Hallowell; 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many family and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, January 2, 2012 at 2 PM at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, Brandon. In lieu of flowers donations in Norma’s name may be made to your favorite charity.
